Christopher Riley

Christopher is an experienced community activist with a long history of work in North London. He sits on the Council of the Highgate Society, which aims to make Highgate and its neighbourhood a better place in which to live and work.  Christopher is Chair of his local Residents Association and is also the Secretary of the Highgate Neighbourhood Forum,  working to develop a Neighbourhood Plan to“further the social, economic and environmental well-being of individuals in a neighbourhood area” and/or to “promote the carrying on of trades, professions or other businesses in an area”.

Christopher was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia in 2008 and has been living with the illness on ‘watch and wait’ ever since. He met Ceinwen at the early stages of Shine London and now jointly runs the London Network.

He feels very passionately about the work of Shine Cancer Support and is currently the Chair on the Board of Trustees. He also volunteers at Shine's Great Escape as a peer supporter.
